Newbridge Dental Corner Team
Our team consists of three dentists (Dr Arthur Phelan, Dr Pat Cashman and Dr Libhin Hayes) and three dental nurses (Mary Whelan, Gillian Keogh and Antoinette Pearse).
Dr Pat Cashman
Pat graduated with a honours degree from Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College Dublin. He spent several years working in a busy family dental practice in Kent, England. He returned to Ireland and joined the practice in 2002. The practice has since expanded and moved in 2008 to a new modern 3 surgery practice.
Pat practices all aspects of general dentistry being particularly interested in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He is an active member of the Irish Dental Association and has represented Kildare as a spokesperson on many issues (eg, Mouth Cancer Awareness Day). He attends many dental courses every year to expand his dental knowledge as he is committed to continuous professional development.
Dr Libhin Hayes
Libhin graduated from Dublin Dental Hospital, Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree with a first class in oral surgery, medicine and pathology. She then spent a year furthering her clinical experience participating in a vocational course in Scotland, associated with Glasgow Dental Hospital. She joined the practice in 2002.
She is a member of the Irish Dental Association, serving 3 years on the committee of the metropolitan branch. She is committed to post-graduate dentistry and attends courses on all aspects of dentistry especially children and dentures.
Pat and Libhin are married and have two children, don't floss every day and their children eat sweets! Arthur is neither of their's father but a great friend and mentor.
Dr Arthur Phelan
Arthur graduated from Dental School at University College Dublin in 1952. In 1956 he established his own dental practice on the main street in Newbridge. He worked there with several associate dentists until moving to a larger upgraded dental premises in 2008. He has considerable experience in dentures.
